A door is the one thing on your house everyone sees.
You would not buy a car from a line drawing. Yet that is how most front doors are still sold — a small picture in a brochure, an approximate colour, and proportions that do not change when your opening is wider than standard.
We built the configurator we wanted as customers: a proper 3D model you can turn, light and change until it is the door you actually want.

Homeowners in Ireland can claim €800 per external door, up to two doors per home, under the SEAI Windows and Doors grant. The installation has to be carried out by a contractor on the SEAI register — ours is. Your home needs to have been built and occupied before 2011 and meet the insulation threshold. Landlords, holiday home owners, housing bodies and companies can claim too.

How much is the SEAI grant on a front door?+
€800 per external door, up to two doors per home, so €1,600 is the maximum. The installation has to be carried out by a contractor on the SEAI register, which ours is. Internal, garage, patio and French doors are not covered.
Do I qualify for the grant?+
Your home needs to have been built and occupied before 2011, have an MPRN, and you need to be replacing inefficient external doors. Your insulation has to meet the heat loss threshold, and a post-works BER assessment is required. Landlords, holiday home owners, housing bodies, charities and companies can claim as well as owner occupiers.
What does a front door actually cost?+
From €2,500 fitted, for a door without glazing or sidelights. Glazing in the leaf adds €200 to €250, a sidelight €600 each, a toplight from €150. A black frame and handle is €100, and a long pull handle €100 to €300 depending on length.
How long does it take?+
Ten to twelve weeks from order to installation. The fitting itself takes one to two days, and we take the old door away.
Do you come out to measure?+
Usually not — measurements are taken over a WhatsApp video call, which is quicker for everyone and free. If you would rather we came in person, we can, and the travel is charged at the same rates as installation.
Where do you install?+
Across the Republic of Ireland. Delivery and installation are included within 100 km of our base in Co. Mayo. Beyond that there is a travel charge of €70 up to 150 km and €120 further out. Northern Ireland is €200.
Who makes the doors?+
Martom, a Polish manufacturer that has been building external doors since 1999. Hybrid construction with a wood and steel core and an aluminium thermal frame.
Can the inside be a different colour from the outside?+
Yes, and it costs nothing extra. Most people pick something strong for the street and a neutral shade for the hallway.
